Announcing TUFLOW 2026.0 Suite
More Power, More Access, Less Barriers
What if you could model both floodplain and environmental processes with the full TUFLOW suite — without doubling your upfront software investment?
That’s exactly what we’re delivering with the TUFLOW 2026.0.0 release.
For over 25 years, TUFLOW has been built to give civil and environmental professionals the clarity, confidence, and speed needed for world-class modelling. This major release takes that commitment further, shaped by your feedback and designed to help you tackle bigger, more integrated projects with greater ease.
New Pricing Structure – Access More for Less
To better support organisations working across both flood/stormwater and environmental applications, we’ve introduced a 100% purchase discount on the alternate hydraulic engine.
Licence holders of TUFLOW Classic/HPC (flood, urban stormwater, and catchment analysis) can now access an equal number of TUFLOW FV licences (environmental simulation, water quality, sediment transport, particle tracking, and TUFLOW CATCH) at no extra upfront purchase cost.
The offer works in reverse for existing FV users.
This dramatically lowers the barrier to using both engines and their modules. Annual maintenance fees still apply, but the initial outlay is significantly reduced. Full details are available in our 2026 TUFLOW Bundle Discounting FAQs.
Major New Features and Improvements
The 2026 release brings meaningful enhancements for efficiency, integration, and usability:
TUFLOW on Linux — Run simulations on Linux for lower cloud computing costs and greater OS flexibility.
Unified Installer — Simpler deployment, version control, and organisational rollout.
Expanded Raster Support — GDAL library now built into the executable for broader GIS compatibility and smoother workflows.
Quality-of-life improvements, including enhanced destratification units (TUFLOW FV), additional HEC-DSS support, independent pit inflow/surcharge curves, and GeoPackage output for advanced 1D map styling (TUFLOW Classic/HPC).
All Manuals Now Online — Fully web-based, modern documentation with a complete rework of the FV manual and ongoing updates to the Classic/HPC manual.
Reimagined Training Program — Updated instructor-led courses plus new eLearning modules (including recently released TUFLOW FV mesh creation and model build courses).
TUFLOW Viewer Version 2 — A complete overhaul of our popular QGIS plugin. Faster, handles larger datasets, more intuitive, and better suited for visualising combined TUFLOW CATCH, FV, and HPC results.
PyTUFLOW 1.1 — Major update to the Python library with removed GDAL/QGIS dependencies (simple pip install pytuflow) and significant speed improvements (up to 10x faster for many operations).
For full details, see the TUFLOW 2026.0.0 Release page and the respective changelogs.

Our Ongoing Commitment
For over 25 years, TUFLOW has helped deliver safer, more resilient communities and healthier environments through better modelling. The 2026 release reflects the continued focus on innovation, accessibility, and supporting the important work you do every day.
We invite you to explore the new capabilities and expand your modelling into both floodplain and environmental applications.
Happy modelling!
